Booted by Dear Frances

designedlifeblog.blogspot.com Dear Frances X Arch boot

No matter how many pairs I own, I can still talk myself into why I need that new pair..in this case I think it speaks for itself.

But just in case the X Arch boot from Dear Frances = Italian nappa leather, stitched detail, wooden block heel, contrast zip tab and racing stripe combine to give the perfect modern take on the versatile ankle boot. And on sale. I'm SOLD.

P.S. the W Foat boot in rouge is another sale favourite.

Safe & wild

I got this little print months later but as it turns out it's the partner in crime to the print from Thursday's post

You can find the Eulenschnitt print at Junique.

Dreaming of weekend getaways..Amsterdam

I can easily do a day-trip to Amsterdam with the car or shudder train but how much more fun is it to make a weekend getaway out of it? And how much better when it mean’s picking a new cool spot to stay? This hotel is the perfect combination of city cool, small and personal, modern vs. vintage and just all-round hip interior design.
I’m thinking Stout & Co is my next trip..after I show you my last round of Arnhem stock shopping, which is what I'm doing right this minute..

Bedroom details

designedlifeblog.blogspot.com bedroom details

My bedroom is my playground and allows me loads of spots to (re)decorate..
Caledonia Jane poster from Playtype, coral-coloured Hay gym hook, book stool from Eno Studio and concrete diamonds from Pasinga make a perfect little bedroom viewscape. Because nothings beating waking in an amazing space..except waking in your own amazing space!

Morse in marble by OX Denmarq

designedlifeblog.blogspot.com Morse OX Denmarq

Shelving, check. Brass, check. Marble, check. All together? Freakin love..

How awesome, modern, timeless is the Morse shelf from OX Denmarq? Wire shelving in brass with ball detailing is pretty hip but then add three different type of marble shelves (available in a white or green option) and it's the stand-out shelf ..

Closet details

I end up wearing a few fave things in my closet more than the rest combined. On the repeat even. How do I keep from looking and feeling like I’m back in my high school uniform? The accessories of course. My closet details make everything so much more fun. Here are the details making me happy right now..
Double ball ring from Minimum, a single edgy crystal stud ear spike, pink cat’s eyes glasses breezy Judy box scarf from Numph and a whim purchase from a fashion blogger; a white leather chain bag from Neri Karra. Paired up with an old favourite getting some renewed love; the walkable ankle boot. Mine current go-to is the minimally edgy Wood Wood Quiteria.

Kitchen duty

I spend a good chunk of time in the kitchen. No complaints, I love it there. I like to think I’m urban to the core till it’s kitchen time and then I’m all old-school and covered in flour with a tea towel slung over my shoulder.
So what could be more fitting than a peek at kitchen duty..including a slice of lemon basil syrup cake.

Saturday Sale Shopping

I tried and was doing pretty darn good poorly in avoiding the online barrage of sales..but then second round additions started rolling in and I threw in the towel. In a last ditch attempt not to blow it completely I decided to do a round-up of the lustworthy..

Shoes, shoes and more shoes..

Petit four planters

Three little beauties from Lenneke Wispelwey have been sitting empty on my windowsill for a year. I love urban green but with six orchids in my master I wanted something non-flowering and with little to no care. The choice? Cacti of course! Delicate porcelain and hardy cactus; a match made in heaven..

P.S. I highly recommend using gloves when (re)potting cactus..

Sketches

designedlifeblog.blogspot.com sketches

I can’t draw but that doesn’t stop me from sketching..

It helps me to figure things out as I’m not a natural at visually plotting an idea into an actual space. And so these sketches have been on my desk while I try my hand at my second not-a-natural talent..making choices. Combined with the accessories on my desk, it helped me make up my mind but for that you’ll have to wait..

Minimal jewelry vibe

On a jewelry kick but when it's as good as Vibe Harslof then it is completely understandable. I spotted a few of this Danish designer's gritty vs. classic pieces was instantly hooked. Effortless cool, with classic materials like pearls but too use in the most unexpected ways..Hello, who doesn't need minimal bling on their laces?

The silver handbrace, pearls lacepiece and descending necklace are faves and on the wishlist..

Breakfast club

I’m in no way big on breakfast. It’s an extreme push most mornings but sometimes, depending on what’s on the plate, or in my case the bowl, it’s a breakfast go..
I figured I go all out breakfast style and deck the table for a leisurely brunch. A beautiful tablecloth, hand knitted towel, my favourite morning foods; fresh baked (lactose free) croissants, sweetly addictive brandy butter and a batch of homemade blueberry maple granola. Add  a wild bouquet, candles, minimal dishware and funky pink coffee cups and we're good.
The perfect slow weekend morning. Let the week begin..

Create, create, create

What, no schedule? Yep, that’s right. But why? Easy enough question to answer..blogging takes time and I’d rather use the time for other things than making schedules. The products I’ll continue to showcase, no worries there.
The time I want to use for creating in the broadest sense of the word. Right now photo’s spreads and product showcases are what interest me. And getting the blog the way I want it..Google, Instagram and Pinterest. The Designed Life… minus schedule but with a bit more of everything else.
The print you can find here.

I'm human, I'm Dutch, so of course I like a give-away, especially if it's Vipp. And what's better than a give-away? Winning of course..

Sheepskin summer

Wednesdays are for quickies, right? So I figured I'd show you one picture of the coat that has and would have be sweating like a woolly sheep in the summer..

Schedule

designedlifeblog.blogspot.com new prints My Deer Art Shop

Struggling on the schedule because 'damn, it's sunny out' and I want to be right out there enjoying it. So keeping it stupid simple;

Stardust

I rarely doubt about sharing but today I doubt..

Broken & bloomed

designedlifeblog.blopgspot.com kintsugi blooms

I had two vases sitting on my kitchen windowsill. Both vacation souvenirs and so not just aesthetic but happy memories. Imagine my horror when I knocked one over and it split right down the middle. What to do..?

Showcase me

designedlifeblog.blogspot.com showcase mirrors

I showed Interior Reflections from Studio Thier & Van Dalen in the schedule but couldn't resist showing another cool design.

Climb baby climb

I said I'd only show the earrings that broke the mould and here they are..

Home

designedlifeblog.blogspot.com wifi home quote

I couldn't resist..who doesn't feel this way after a trip? I know I'm home when I have automatic wifi. I would have said sleeping on my own pillow but I take that sucker with me everywhere.

Happy Monday!
