On the table

designedlifeblog.blogspot.com on the table

These pictures were shot with the Sunday series. I love flowers and I had a few roses left over and so a single bud made to my coffee/drawing/puzzle/telly/reading/take-out night and most importantly coffee spot. I want to add a vintage vibe to my space and pulled out a few fave books to go with coffee time.

Ryan Storer; minimalist statement jewellery

designedlifeblog.blogspot.com ryan storer

I'm on a freakin jewelry high of late but there are just so many amazing artisans out there that I keep stumbling on more pieces I need to have, asap!

The pieces by Ryan Storer are of a clean aesthetic but with an edge. Understated yet instantly noticeable. Bold and complementary. The perfect minimalist statement piece.

Sundays

designedlifeblog.blogspot.com sundays

I snapped a few pics last week for no reason other than that I thought 'how lovely my home is' and how happy it makes me. That's home and Sundays are home days meant to do just that; sit back, relax and enjoy home!

Wool backpack

designedlifeblog.blogspot.com wool backpack

Another reason why I'm doing poorly at resisting the summer sales..

This wool, suede and leather backpack from Elizabeth and James is on sale! I'm obsessed with checking the app to see if A. it's still available and B. it's dropped further in price. I'm still thinking it over but since I can't get it out of my head..you know the drill.

Spiky

I showed you the first of the SBK art here. Here's edition two. A singular canvas piece titled Spiky by Hill Driessen. Monochrome, texture and minimal..perfect!

Double pearl belt

designedlifeblog.blogspot.com Peter Jensen double pearl belt

I'm not really a belt person despite having a good-sized collection. Don't get me wrong, I like belts, just never actually looped in at my actual waist.

Shaved and spiked; peach & prosecco summer berry granita

designedlifeblog.blogspot.com wild peach prosecco granita

I started this post in the middle of the heatwave. I'm the 'stick to the shade with a cold tall glass in hand' kind and so I set out to make my tall glass..

Glass, marble and stone; Gum Design

designedlifeblog.blogspot.com Gum Design
Gum Design is art and design. Consistent, thoughtful, minimal. I saw the Cumuli blue glass vase highlighted on Crowdy (a favourite for spotting design) and knew this was design love. My favourite is the cumuli vase with it’s free form glass on a basalt base, as if a wave just broke on a black sand beach. Other favourites are the Disgelo marble jewelry boxes, Mutamenti marble wood containers and the most stunning series of wine glasses; the Calici.

Minimalist candelholder

designedlife.blogspot.com minimalist candleholder
Raw and asymmetrical, smooth and balanced, seem an unlikely combination but I beg to differ with this matte porcelain candleholder from Poast. I love her work, saw this piece and could resist no more. The finish and colour makes it edgy while the elliptical shape, dare I say, is downright sexy. The perfect minimalist piece.

Acacia beauty; the Skogsta Ikea collection

designedlifeblog.blogspot.com Skogsta

Since I'm planning a quick trip to Ikea this evening as my desired product is finally in stock, I figured I share a new reason I love this place! The Skogsta collection is launching next month. The collection is kitchen and dining pieces in acacia. I'm in love with these strong, minimal and functional pieces..Yep another few products will be added to my app wishlist.

Weak in the Lim

designedlifeblog.blogspot.com Weak in the Lim

Forgive the cheesy title but it rings true. I’m pretty price savvy when it comes to purchases, but then you see it..the piece that makes your palms sweat, knees shake and gets you overall very weak in the limbs. That's how I feel about this sculptural blazer from 3.1 Phillip Lim.

Iced and sweetened

This is the first of the Arnhemse Stockdagen purchases..

Sunshine

designedlifeblog.blogspot.com sunshine

I decided to take a break from harping on about it being too warm. A dutchie sends half the year complaining it's too cold and the other half looking for shade..me included. But it's beautiful out, kids are outdoors in about a thousand inflatable pools and it's ice cream and watermelon season. It's summer, baby! Enjoy.

Water Bulb by Anderssen & Voll for Mjolk

I'm more green-fingered than black-thumbed but my garden sin remains watering. Over-watering to be exact.

I (often) can't quite remember when I last watered and so watering is on a sporadic schedule at best. Luckily this works out pretty good but for all other instances a water bulb is the way to good.

The water bulb by Anderssen & Voll for Mjolk is by far the most aesthetically pleasing one out there. Mouth-blown, hand-shaped and experimental all-round this baby doesn't even need the plant!
