Lolo

I have an obsession with vases. My collection has taken over both the linen closet and the office. Most of the collection is ceramics, especially in white, because a girl can never have enough white ceramic vases.. And then I saw an image for the Lolo vase from By Lassen and I knew I needed to make the switch to lacquered metal. I originally saw and wanted it in black, so don't worry because it's equally as good in either colour. The inner grid even helps to bring out the inner Ikebana goddess in the most black thumbed of flower arrangers. And luckily it is just in time for spring!

Hopscotch

I’m obsessed with scented candles. Candles that smell like the holidays to be exact. Unique scents, nothing too sweet or cloying in beautiful albeit it minimalist style packaging. Sorry, no pumpkin spice and no red. 

I have several different brands that I intend to burn through this holiday season (pun intended). Starting with Hopscotch in the scents cedar + pine and spiced apple. These make even rainy November days the perfect time to sit before the fire and enjoy!

First bloom

Saturday's tradition of fresh flowers disappeared the moment we decided to move. Not just the move, or the fact that every view outside has tons of flowers. It also had to do with being settled or actually not being settled in my case. The space, with the switching of the dining room for what we themed 'the winter garden', makes it feel more like our space. And so in came the first bouquet, in my favourite spot, keeping a lookout for our pesky but super cute garden squirrel foraging under the walnut tree.

Summer things

Hell yeah, finally a day without rain. And sun! It's summer, baby.

I think we only got about 20 minutes of sun soaking and the kids were a bit gremlin like (sorry kiddos, you were) but man, did I enjoy Sunday. All the mundane chores of the weekend aside, there is nothing better than being at home. Kids biking around the house, planting new things and sniping their favourite flowers from the garden, baking sugar cookies and gobbling down a fresh pan of calorie-attack lasagna like I didn't make em breakfast and lunch... Ahh, home is were the sink is always full of dirty dishes.

Autumn colors

My latest trip to the florist was on a warm and beautiful sunny day, I was drawn to dark and moody, crooked twigs and dark purples. As much I love sunshine and summer, part of me is actually excited about autumn. Not only because I can wear more coats and hats. But because of candles, sheepskins, moody colors and chunky knits. Autumn feels like baked apples and cinnamon. Knits and boots Leaves and candles.

Pipeline

I mentioned  Tuesday that my tic is waiting eons to break things out of the box. This concrete vase is a good example of that. Sitting, unopened under the stairs in the shipping crate, since the spring..

But now that my updated media console (more on that later) is almost done, my urban vase finally saw daylight. I love the juxtaposition of concrete, gritty, grey urban versus bright, colourful nature. The vase is from Lyon Beton and the bowl from Olav Slingerland.

This week has all the usual suspects including the results of the mini update of my man’s room. It also holds something a bit different; a post about the rules of my home. Interested? Check back later in the week, but first;

• I am eating like I haven’t in a long time..thankfully the next post is workout related. But first it's time for another sweet treat. This time based on the lovely spring weather we had but with a citrus kick.
• I swoon over suave workout gear like I do over shoes, so of course I want to share the kit to make you and my you I mean me the hottest thing at the gym, on the track or wherever we break a sweat.
• I have been craving out storage space after storage space and this a preview of the next spot to tackle.
• Here is the my heartbreaker's (girls go gaga for the hair and me for everything) updated bedroom.

• In celebration of being light, something I have never done and might never do again, a mini lookbook of what I wear, because every day is a celebration, so get up, dress up and show (em) up..

• Starting with some eats, because literally it's your fuel and nothing makes me more balanced than working in my kitchen.
• What's a week without beautiful design? This time a collection of timepieces to help or not help with my time obsession.

• Every spy a place and think "yes, my dream home, now how to foot the bill".
• And a little weekend thoughts post because I feel light and that is worth celebrating (plus it was a double birthday week).

This week is bit smaller because there are just not enough hours in the day and I seem to have transformed into a tortoise which is not exactly what I was hoping for..

• Since Monday is my off-day, at least from my paid job, I figured why not gloat a bit over my weekly three-day weekend with another slice of pie..
• I showed you my hot & humid tropicale bathroom here and will be showing you another greened-up space soon but in the meantime I’m so burning with green fever my eye has headed outdoors..
• The indoor gym is now officially open. Watch your step, keep your balance..

Partly cloudy

With a Woonbeurs discount this vase arrived this week in the post.

• The simplicity of the holder which is basically a drinking glass with heft.
